As a Tendering Engineer, you will play a crucial role in driving the commercial success of the organisation by preparing and managing tenders, bids, and cost analysis to maximise profitability. This role requires:

You will work closely with the Sales and Procurement teams to develop innovative and commercially viable solutions that align with client needs and business objectives.


Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake the effective development and preparation of commercial and technical offers across the range of switchgear products—from Baldwin & Francis, Igranic, and Allenwest—to enhance the prospect of securing orders for the business.
  • Effectively assess and validate incoming enquiries to identify our ability to offer and strategies for enhancing the success of such offers.
  • Liaise with Key Account Managers and Sales Managers to ensure an understanding of timescales and tactics in preparing Offers.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Production departments to ensure technical aspects of customer requirements are met in the most cost-effective manner.
  • Review tender Terms and Conditions, arriving at appropriate clarifications and exceptions as necessary, in consultation with legal/risk management.
  • Control the quality and accuracy of the bid and ensure the optimal solution is submitted to customers.
  • Develop, negotiate, and agree/confirm contract specifications with external groups, including contractors, end-users, and OEM companies.

What We’re Looking For

  • A Degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering.
  • Technical background and experience in MV and LV Electrical Switchgear.
  • Strong understanding of the components and features of electrical switchgear, with awareness of product limitations.
  • Keen to learn and develop.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Pro-active attitude and problem-solving capabilities.
