Job Description Summary

Do you want to play a pivotal role in shaping the commercial strategy for GE Vernova’s Electrification business in the UK? GE Vernova is looking for an exceptional Tendering Engineer to join our Grid Systems Integration team based in Stafford.

Job Description

Let’s Talk about the Role

The Tendering Engineer will act as a key contributor to the HVDC Transformers tendering team, driving high-quality, competitive proposals to support global business development. You will be responsible for the end-to-end tender process, collaborating across engineering, sourcing, manufacturing, and project management teams to deliver proposals that maximize customer satisfaction and drive commercial success.

How You Will Make a Difference

  • Driving bid strategies in partnership with leadership to deliver efficient, high-probability-of-success proposals.
  • Leading the organization of tendering activities, including technical feasibility studies and commercial proposal optimization.
  • Building and managing tender schedules while proactively identifying and mitigating potential risks or deviations.
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure all tender approvals and process gates are managed in a timely and compliant manner.
  • Developing deep technical knowledge of products and market trends to anticipate customer needs and offer competitive recommendations.
  • Improving tendering processes to enhance bid quality, reduce slippage, and increase overall customer satisfaction.

Skills for Success

You should be a strategic problem-solver with a background in complex engineering projects, possessing:

  • The ability to lead contract negotiations and technical clarifications with customers in an international environment.
  • The capability to work effectively under tight time constraints and high-pressure bidding cycles.
  • An understanding of commercial management, contract terms, and costing within a large-scale project environment.
  • An expertise in electrical power system engineering, particularly regarding HVDC or power transformer equipment.
  • A keen interest in utilizing advanced data tools and software to produce precise, high-quality documentation.

A formal education and subsequent University Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering are nice to have, but we are most interested in your total experience and professional achievements.


Where and how you'll work

  • This is a permanent position based in our Stafford office.
  • We are big on collaboration and connection, and this role requires an onsite presence to work closely with our integrated project teams.
