Our client is a high-growth HV contractor at the forefront of the UK’s energy transition is seeking a strategic Tendering Manager to lead its pre-construction commercial function following a period of significant scaling.

The Role

  • Take Ownership: Manage the estimating process to ensure the commercial viability of large, complex tenders.
  • Lead Tenders: Oversee multi-million-pound estimates for HV projects, including substations and grid connections up to 132kV.
  • Drive Strategy: Develop winning bid strategies by analysing market trends, competitor activity, and internal resource capabilities.
  • Build Teams: Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior estimators and bid coordinators.
  • Manage Supply Chain: Negotiate framework agreements with key suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive advantages.

  • Sector Expert: A recognised professional in the UK power sector with an established reputation for accuracy and commercial integrity.
  • Proven Experience: A minimum of 7–10 years in a senior estimating role within UK power distribution, transmission, or renewables markets.
  • Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of DNO standards, contestable works, and ICP frameworks.
  • Strategic Mindset: A track record of managing complex bids from initial EOI through to final contract award and project handover.
