Tendering Specialist Job Opportunity | Hitachi Energy (Grid Automation)
Location: Zaventem, Belgium (also based in Rotterdam or Paris)

We seek a Tendering Specialist to join our international Grid Automation Europe team and enhance our dynamic, evolving team in Belgium.
About the Role
You will play a key role in collaborating with sales to define and compile tenders for our new and service businesses. As part of a diverse, international team, your responsibilities will involve managing end-to-end tender and bid processes essential to the company’s growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and manage end-to-end tenders, bids, and quotations, ensuring timely, accurate, and competitive submissions
- Coordinate technical, commercial, financial, and contractual inputs across internal teams and external stakeholders
- Identify and assess risks in bids and contracts to support informed decision-making
- Partner with engineering and supply chain teams to deliver customer-aligned technical solutions, while evaluating supplier offers from technical and commercial standpoints
- Collaborate with sales to understand customer needs and deliver tailored support throughout the sales process
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships to ensure a seamless experience
- Assist in sourcing and evaluating potential suppliers for required equipment and materials

What We’re Looking For
Experience & Skills
- Degree: Bachelor’s or master’s degree (electrical, mechanical, automation engineering, or related field)
- Experience: 3–5 years or equivalent senior-level experience
- Valued background in engineering, tendering, technical project management, or sales
- Preference for candidates with technical expertise in:
- Substation Automation & Protection systems
- SCADA, RTUs, IEDs
- Mission-critical communication systems (Other relevant industry experience considered)
- Soft Skills:
- Thrives as a reliable, self-motivated team player
- Strong communicator with exceptional collaboration and organization
- Adaptable to an international, multicultural environment

Language Requirements
- Proficiency in: French + English or Dutch + English (written + oral)
