Territory Sales Consultant (TSC) – Drive Sales Growth Across B&Q Stores

About the Role

The Territory Sales Consultant role presents a dynamic opportunity to drive sales growth, create demand, and expand product awareness across assigned B&Q stores. As a Sherwin-Williams Territory Sales Consultant, you’ll proactively build demand where none exists, initiate conversations that others avoid, and take full ownership of growing your assigned territory—even in uncertain conditions.

This field-based, commercially focused role covers six B&Q stores:

  • Workington
  • Carlisle
  • Kendal
  • Penrith
  • Galashiels
  • Barrow

Candidates must live within the designated territory. Due to travel demands, candidates based in Carlisle are ideally suited.

This role is ideal for sales professionals with retail sales, customer service, or client-facing experience who thrive on creating opportunities, influencing others, and building momentum in fast-paced environments.

What You Will Do

As a Territory Sales Consultant, your responsibilities include:

  • Proactively drive demand – Identify gaps, underperformance, and untapped potential within each store to create sales opportunities without waiting for direction.
  • Build lasting relationships – Develop strong connections with store associates, managers, and key stakeholders to foster product advocacy and influence in-store behaviour.
  • Deliver insightful training – Conduct engaging product and sales workshops to equip store teams with the skills to sell more effectively and confidently.
  • Promote our brand – Activate and advocate for Sherwin-Williams both with store teams and customers, emphasising value over price.
  • Uncover sales potential – Identify cross-selling, up-selling, and merchandising opportunities to maximise revenue.
  • Optimise store presence – Ensure pricing, displays, signage, and stock levels support sales and visibility.
  • Execute in-store events – Plan and deliver impactful activations to boost customer engagement and conversion rates.
  • Utilise CRM tools – Monitor activity, track pipelines, and prioritise growth opportunities with data-driven decisions.
  • Proactively engage consumers – Seek out and initiate conversations with trade-focused customers to assess potential and build ongoing opportunities.
  • Nurture emerging accounts – Secure consent and store details to cultivate high-value trade relationships.
  • Maintain consistency – Ensure action across your entire territory is executed with execution and discipline.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
