Assistant Vice President – Commercial Banking
Purpose of the Role
To drive the success of the commercial banking segment through market analysis, product development, sales and relationship management, risk management, and performance analysis.
Accountabilities

Market Research & Strategy
- Execute comprehensive market research to understand the competitive landscape, identify trends, and capture market share within commercial banking, considering industry size and growth stage.

Pricing Strategy
- Develop competitive yet profitable pricing models for banking products and services.

Product & Solution Innovation
- Design, implement, and manage innovative financial solutions tailored for commercial banking, including:
- Loan products
- Cash management solutions
- Trade finance services
- Design, implement, and manage innovative financial solutions tailored for commercial banking, including:

Strategic Partnerships
- Identify and establish partnerships with financial institutions, technology providers, or industry experts to expand offerings and reach new client segments.

Client Relationship Management
- Manage key stakeholder relationships to understand business needs and recommend bespoke solutions.

- Develop and implement sales strategies, including:
- Setting performance targets
- Identifying sales channels
- Defining loan terms to support negotiation

Tesco Bank – Pricing Commercial Analyst (Savings)
Purpose of the Role
Analyse market trends, competitor data, and business performance to develop and recommend pricing strategies that drive profitability and sustainable growth. Monitor pricing decisions via performance reviews to identify optimisation opportunities.
Core Responsibilities
- Drive data-driven decision-making for pricing, new product launches, and business objectives.
- Create clear management information and presentations, translating complex findings for stakeholders—including executive leaders.
- Ensure insights are comprehensive, convincing, and actionable.
Key Success Drivers
Essential Skills & Experience
- Analytical Expertise: Proficiency in interpreting complex data for actionable insights.
- Financial Acumen: Deep understanding of how pricing impacts profitability and business performance.
- Technical Proficiency:
- SAS, SQL, or Python for data analysis and modelling.
- Advanced Excel proficiency.
- Stakeholder Influence: Ability to engage and advise senior leaders (Director/MD-level) with confidence.
- Communication & Presentation: Translate technical analysis into clear, compelling narratives for non-technical audiences.
- Financial Services Background: Preferred prior experience in lending or pricing environments.
