About the Role
Availability Window
We require colleagues to be available within the following window:
- Sun: 17:00 – 24:00
- Mon: 17:00 – 24:00
- Tue: 17:00 – 24:00
- Wed: 17:00 – 24:00
- Thu: 17:00 – 24:00
We will schedule your shifts within these times and provide 3 weeks’ notice. Flexibility is supported, so if your availability closely matches but is not identical, please apply anyway.
Salary & Hours
- Starting pay: £13.28 per hour
- Minimum guaranteed hours: 16 hours per week (reduced to 12 hours if preferred)
Key Responsibilities
As a Tesco Store Colleague, you will:
- Serve customers with passion, delivering great service in-body and energetic manner
- Be knowledgeable about store products, promotions, and services
- Work across the store including service counters, picking, and replenishment areas
- Understand training, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality customer service
- Make prioritised decisions to meet customer needs
- Assist in seasonal, community, or charity events
- Monitor store performance to maximise service, sales, and profit while reducing waste
- Handle products carefully to maintain quality
- Uphold Tesco’s values, ensuring everyone feels welcome
- Occasionally assist with deliveries and store operations

Requirements
Candidates must:
- Be over 18 years old (relaxed unless working hours stretch beyond reasonable times or involve warehouse/delivery roles)
- Have a passion for customer engagement and service excellence
- Build rapport with customers, ensuring a positive shopping experience
- Take initiative to meet customer needs
- Work effectively as part of a team and communicate openly
- Foster team spirit, celebrating successes
- Maintain punctuality and professional appearance
