** Retail Colleague (Flexible Availability) – Isle of Man** (from £14.55/hour + 16–12-hour weekly guaranteed shifts)

About the Role

We’re looking for passionate, attentive, and service-driven colleagues who can embrace the varied challenges of a live retail environment with enthusiasm.

Availability Window

This role operates on a flexible shift pattern with guaranteed weekly hours (minimum 16). You’ll be scheduled within these availability windows, with 3 weeks’ notice of shifts:

  • Wed: 22:00–07:00
  • Fri: 22:00–07:00
  • Sat: 22:00–07:00

We welcome near-matching availability—if you can shift slightly but aren’t fully aligned with these periods, please apply anyway.


Responsibilities

As a Retail Colleague, you’ll:

  • Deliver exceptional customer service—serving shoppers with a passionate and knowledgeable approach.
  • Work across store sections, including service desks, self-checkouts, pick-and-pack areas, and other operational zones as needed.
  • Replenish stock and maintain store presentation, ensuring products are at peak quality.
  • Apply safety and service standards learned in training to consistently meet customer needs (e.g., seasonal promotions, staffing pivots).
  • Engage with the community, representing Tesco at events, campaigns, and local initiatives with warmth and inclusivity.
  • Monitor store performance, understanding metrics like service levels, waste reduction, and profit targets.
  • Handle customer interactions diplomatically, troubleshooting issues practically.
  • Support operational tasks, including occasional late-night deliveries or stock rotations (if required).

Requirements

✅ Essential:

  • Be 18+ (statutory exception extends eligibility for early-morning/late-shift roles).
  • Love nothing more than connecting with customers and positively impacting their shopping experience.
  • Work flexibly: Be ready to adapt to tasks, employee rota changes, and high-volume periods.
  • Prove team-first commitment—collaborate openly, reciprocate with colleagues, and uphold our values-driven culture.
  • Comfort with physical demands: While roles avoid heavy manual handling*, you’ll stand, walk, and occasionally bend/reach for shelving.

This is a non-critical support role with limited manual handling tasks, but the position may occasionally require minor stock-rotation assistance.
