Contemporary Store Assistant – Part-Time / Full-Time
About the Role
Our Tesco Colleague rate of pay starts from £13.28 an hour (rising to £14.55 for stores within the M25). Additional payments may apply depending on location.
We guarantee a minimum of 16 hours per week, with flexibility for fewer hours (minimum 12 hours) if preferred. Below is your availability window for our scheduling process:

You will receive 3 weeks' notice for your scheduled shifts. We welcome applications even if your availability aligns closely but not exactly with the advertised times.
What We’d Like You to Do
As a Tesco Colleague, you’ll be at the heart of customers’ shopping journeys. The role is hands-on, ranging from service excellence to backend operations—perfect for someone passionate about people, products, and teamwork. Key responsibilities include:
- Serving customers with energy: Anticipating needs and delivering a warm, natural service that puts customers first.
- Product expertise: Being passionate and knowledgeable about our products, services, and promotions.
- Full-store flexibility: Supporting across service counter, picking, and replenishment areas as needed.
- Safety, quality, and efficiency: Applying training to ensure safe, effective store operations.
- Customer-focused decisions: Adapting routines and making on-the-spot decisions to enhance service and sales.
- Community and engagement: Participating in seasonal/charity events to foster an inclusive store atmosphere.
- Performance advocacy: Understanding store metrics, reducing waste/shrinkage, and contributing to profit.
- Product care: Handling items with precision to maintain quality until they reach customers.
- Embodying our values: Being yourself while upholding consistent, welcoming standards.
- Delivery support (as required): Accepting deliveries when needed.

Age Requirement
⚠️ You must be over 18 to apply for this role.
Note: The school-leaver age may vary by country. For warehouse, early/late shift, or liquor-related roles, the age requirement is 18 due to operational specifics.
