About the Role

Our Tesco Colleague pay starts at £13.28 per hour (increasing to £14.55 for stores within the M25). Additional payments may apply depending on location.

We guarantee 16 hours per week for new colleagues, though reduced hours (minimum 12) may be available. Employees will receive 3 weeks’ notice of scheduled shifts, and minor flexibility is supported.

Key Responsibilities

  • Understand and serve customers with passion and pride, anticipating their needs.
  • Provide expert product knowledge—always staying informed and trained on store offerings.
  • Work flexibly across store areas, including service, picking, and replenishment.
  • Apply safety, efficiency, and service standards to ensure a great shopping experience.
  • Make customer-centred decisions, optimising routines for demand and satisfaction.
  • Contribute to seasonal and community events, fostering an inclusive shopping atmosphere.
  • Monitor store performance metrics, understanding how individual roles drive service, sales, and profitability.
  • Handle products with care, ensuring quality and presentation.
  • Embody Tesco’s values—being authentic, welcoming, and policy-compliant.
  • Occasionally accept deliveries, as required.

🔹 Age requirement: Must be over 18 (higher minimum for roles working before 6:15AM, after 9:45PM, or in restricted areas like warehousing/delivery).
