Availability & Hours
We require you to be available during specific shifts each week to accommodate our operational needs. Here are your preferred availability windows:
- Monday: 19:00 - 23:00
- Thursday: 09:00 - 14:00
- Friday: 19:00 - 23:00
- Saturday: 17:00 - 22:00
If your availability aligns closely—even if not perfectly—we’d still love to hear from you. Shifts will be scheduled 3 weeks in advance.
Our Tesco Colleague rate of pay starts at £13.28 per hour, rising to £14.55 per hour for stores within the M25 area. Additional payments may apply based on your location.
We offer a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours per week, with flexible options down to 12 hours if preferred. This is a great opportunity if you’d like part-time commitments.
Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
- Delivering exceptional customer service—greeting shoppers with passion and pride, anticipating their needs.
- Knowledgeable about products/services within your store, ensuring you can assist confidently.
- Cross-store support—helping in service areas, picking, and replenishment as needed.
- Applying training effectively to ensure safety, efficiency, and outstanding service.
- Making customer-focused decisions, such as adjusting routines based on demand.
- Participating in charity/events to create a welcoming atmosphere.
- Monitoring store performance—recognising your impact on service, sales, profit, and waste reduction.
- Handling products with care, ensuring quality and reducing damages.
- Living Tesco’s values—embodying warmth, adherence to policies, and always welcoming your colleagues and customers.
