Our Tesco Colleague starting pay is £13.28 per hour. In the Isle of Man, you’ll receive an additional location pay supplement, bringing your hourly rate to £14.55.
We guarantee a minimum of 16 hours per week to new colleagues but can offer opportunities for 12 hours or more if you prefer flexibility. We will schedule shifts within these windows and provide 3 weeks’ notice for your roster. Flexibility matters to us—if your availability aligns closely with these times, we’d still like to hear from you.
About The Role

As a Tesco Colleague, you’ll:
- Work across the store, helping in service, picking, and replenishment areas as necessary.
- Put customer service training into action to ensure safety, efficiency, and consistently great experiences.
- Make customer-focused decisions to meet the needs of our shoppers.
- Engage in seasonal and community events to build a welcoming environment.
- Monitor store performance, contributing to growing service and sales, reducing waste, and boosting profit.
- Handle products carefully to maintain quality and ensure excellent customer delivery.
Occasionally, deliveries may need to be supervised or accepted into the store.
PLEASE NOTE
You must be over 18 years old to apply. Receipt of wages may sometimes need to begin before 6:15 AM or extend after 9:45 PM, or duties may involve areas such as:
- Warehouses
- Beers, wines, and spirits
- Counters
- Bakeries
- Driving roles.

Responsibilities
- Know your customers and serve them with passion and pride, providing natural, friendly service.
- Be passionate and knowledgeable about the products and services you’re selling.
- Partner across the store in different roles—POS, picking, packing, and replenishment.
- Safely and effectively apply the training you receive.
- Make informed decisions that benefit customers while maintaining shift schedules.
- Participate in events tied to seasonal, community, and charity initiatives.
- Understand performance metrics and what you bring to the team to improve service, drive sales, reduce waste, and boost profit.
- Handle products with precision to maintain quality and meet customer needs.
