Store Associate

About the Role

Our Tesco Colleague rate of pay starts from £13.28 an hour; this increases to £14.55 for stores within the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location.

It is our policy to offer new colleagues joining us a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week, but if you would like to work fewer hours (to a minimum of 12), opportunities are available.

Below is theavailability window for this role:

Availability Window

  • Wednesday

    • From: 09:00

  • Friday

    • From: 18:30
    • To: 23:15

We will schedule your contracted hours within these times, with 3 weeks’ notice of your exact shifts. We welcome colleagues who can closely match these availability windows—other flexible options may be considered.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

  • Serving customers with passion and pride, delivering outstanding natural service.
  • Being passionate and knowledgeable about the products and services within your store.
  • Working across departments, including service, picking, and replenishment areas as needed.
  • Applying training safety protocols to ensure effective store operations and exceptional customer service.
  • Making customer-focused decisions and executing routines to meet customer needs, reduce waste, and drive sales.
  • Engaging in seasonal, community, and charity events to create an inclusive atmosphere.
  • Understanding and improving store performance, minimising shrink and waste, and maximising profit.
  • Handling products carefully to maintain freshness and quality.
  • Embracing Tesco’s values, fostering inclusivity, and aligning with company policies.
  • Potentially assisting with deliveries into the store.
