Our Tesco Colleague pay starts from £13.28/hour. For stores within the M25, the rate increases to £14.55/hour. Additional payments may apply based on location. We offer a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours weekly for new colleagues, with opportunities for flexible hours down to 12.

The availability windows outline our preferred working times. Your shifts will be scheduled within these, with three weeks' notice. If your preferred availability closely matches, we’d still love to hear from you.

What You’ll Do

You’ll be part of a dynamic store team, delivering day-to-day challenges that contribute to excellent customer service. This role includes:

  • Serving customers with passion, offering friendly natural service.
  • Knowing your products — acts as a valuable resource for shoppers.
  • Multi-tasking across the store — supporting in service, picking and replenishment as needed.
  • Putting training into practice to ensure safe, effective operations.
  • Making customer-focused decisions — delivering routines that meet shoppers’ needs.
  • Engaging actively in seasonal and community events, fostering an inclusive atmosphere.
  • Understanding your store’s performance — contributing to service, sales health and profitability.
  • Being a custodian of quality — handling products with care for the customer experience.
  • Living Tesco’s values and policies, ensuring everyone feels welcome.

Requirements

  • A passion for delivering great customer service—smile, interact with shoppers warmly.
  • The ability to build rapport and leave customers glad they shopped with you.
  • Proactive and capable of making decisions to meet our customers’ needs.
  • Strong teamwork skills and open communication.
  • Comfortable representing the brand by being well-presented and punctual.
