About the Role

We’re looking for passionate, service-focused individuals to join our Tesco store team—where every day brings variety, new challenges, and the chance to make a difference. This is a role for doers, driven by a love for great customer service and a commitment to excellence.

Note: Shifts will be scheduled within these availability windows, with 3 weeks’ notice. We welcome slight variations in availability if your schedule aligns closely but isn’t an exact match.


Pay & working hours: Our standard Tesco pay rate starts at £13.28 per hour. We guarantee at least 16 contracted hours per week, but reduced hour options (down to a minimum of 12) are also available if needed.

Key Responsibilities

Your role will involve:

  • Delivering outstanding customer service—knowing customers, engaging with them naturally, and leaving a lasting impression.
  • Being product-savvy: passionate about the items you sell and fully aware of our store’s offerings.
  • Assisting across the store—servicing customers, handling stock, and replenishing shelves as needed.
  • Applying end-to-end training to ensure safe, efficient operations and outstanding customer care.
  • Making customer-first decisions to meet needs at the right time (reducing waste, enhancing sales, maintaining quality).
  • Participating in seasonal, community, and charity events—creating an inclusive, welcoming atmosphere.
  • Understanding store performance metrics (sales, service, cost management) and actively contributing to its success.
  • Handling products with care to preserve quality before they reach shoppers.
  • Living Tesco’s values in everything you do—from personal demeanour to policy adherence.
  • Occasionally, assisting with store deliveries when required.
