Our Tesco Colleague rate of pay starts from £13.28 an hour; this increases to £14.55 for stores within the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location.
We offer new colleagues joining us a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours per week, with opportunities for fewer hours (down to a minimum of 12) if needed. You’ll receive 3 weeks’ notice of your shifts, and we support flexibility where closely matched availability aligns, even if not entirely perfect.

What You Will Do
- Know your customers, serving them with passion and pride, offering great natural service.
- Be passionate and knowledgeable about products and services in your store.
- Work across the store, assisting in service, picking, and replenishment areas as needed.
- Implement training and safety practices, ensuring effective and brilliant customer service.
- Make customer-focused decisions and deliver routines tailored to meet customer needs efficiently.
- Engage in seasonal, community, and charity events, fostering an inclusive atmosphere.
- Track store performance, understanding your role in driving service and sales, reducing waste, and enhancing profit.
- Handle all products with care, maintaining quality for customers.
- Live our values daily—being authentic to create a welcoming environment while following store policies. Occasionally, you may be required to handle deliveries into the store.
