Shopfloor Assistant (Retail) – Store Job Opportunity

About the Role

Our Tesco Colleague rate of pay starts at £13.28 per hour, rising to £14.55 for stores within the M25. Additional payments may apply depending on your location.

We guarantee 16 hours per week for new colleagues, with flexibility to reduce to 12 hours if preferred. Shifts will be fully booked into your schedule with 3 weeks’ notice.

As a key shopfloor role, you’ll help serve our customers with passion, pride, and flexibility. This is a role for doers—where every day brings variety and challenge.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Serving customers with natural, smile-driven service and product knowledge
  • Working across store areas, including service, picking, and replenishment
  • Implementing training and safety policies to ensure customer excellence
  • Supporting seasonal, community, and charity events
  • Understanding store performance and contributing to sales, waste reduction, and profit
  • Handling products with care while maintaining quality
  • Practising Tesco’s values and embedding them in daily interactions
  • Occasionally accepting deliveries during busy periods
