Eligibility

  • You must be over 18 to apply for this position.
  • Additional requirements apply if working before 6:15 am, after 9:45 pm, or in designated roles like the warehouse, spirits section, or bakery.

Responsibilities

You’ll contribute to the running of the Tesco store by handling multiple key tasks:

  • Customer Experience & Engagement

    • Deliver natural, enthusiastic service every time.
    • Be passionate and knowledgeable about products and services in your store.
    • Understand customer needs and work to achieve excellent service standards.
  • Store Operations

    • Support across various store areas, including service desks and replenishment tasks.
    • Begin shifts ready to actively engage and improve with colleagues through onboarding training.
    • Comply with rigorous safety, quality, and delivery protocols.
  • Store Performance & Growth

    • Contribute to improving service levels, sales, and reducing waste.
    • Follow policies to support profitability and customer satisfaction.
  • Community Involvement

    • Participate in seasonal events, charity work, and creating an inclusive store atmosphere.
  • Fulfilment & Collaboration

    • Accept deliveries as required.

Remuneration & Basic Conditions

  • Pay scale: Starts at £13.28 per hour (or £14.55 in stores within the M25), with location-specific additional payments.
  • Flexible hours: We guarantee minimum 16 paid hours each week but offer roles starting from 12 hours if preferred.
  • Availability windows for shifts (ignoring weekends outside your contracted hours):
    • Sunday: 10:00–16:00 GMT
    • Thursday: 12:00–18:45 GMT
    • Friday & Saturday: 16:00–22:00 GMT
    • We provide 3 weeks’ notice for shift scheduling. Some minor deviations may be flexible if availability is close.
