Tesco Store Colleague Position
About the Role
Our Tesco Colleague role offers great variety, variety, and plenty of opportunity to make a difference. You’ll be at the heart of our stores, serving customers with passion and commitment.
Availability Window
Our store requires colleagues to be available for shifts during the following times:
- Sunday: 12:00 - 19:30
- Tuesday: 18:00 - 22:00
- Thursday: 18:00 - 22:00
- Saturday: 15:30 - midnight
Colleagues are scheduled within these timeframes, with 3 weeks' notice provided for their shifts. We aim to match as closely as possible to the availability below, though flexible candidates are welcome.
Payment and Hours
- Base Starting Pay: £13.28 per hour (£14.55 for store locations within the M25)
- Additional Payments: May apply depending on role and location
- Guaranteed Minimum Hours: We offer a minimum of 16 contracted hours per week. We also accept applications for 12-hour contracts if this better suits your needs.
Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
- Serving shoppers with pride: Greeting customers warmly and providing exceptional service.
- Supporting store operations: Working across service, picking, and replenishment areas as needed.
- Carrying out training: Applying learned processes safely, effectively, and with care.
- Driving customer-service excellence: Making timely and informed decisions for shoppers.
- Participating in events: Supporting seasonal, community, and charity initiatives.
- Monitoring store performance: Understanding store targets and contributing to sales, waste reduction, and shrink goals.
- Upholding company values: Handling products with care and ensuring policies are followed.
- Representing the brand: Being yourself while embodying Tesco’s values.
- Assisting deliveries: Performing tasks such as facilitating deliveries into the store at times (as required).
