The standard store pay rate starts from £13.28 per hour, increasing to £14.55 for stores within the M25. Additional payments may also apply and depend on location.
We guarantee a minimum of 16 hours per week for new colleagues. However, opportunities for 12 hours per week or fewer are available if preferred.
This table outlines your availability windows for shifts. We’ll schedule your contracted hours within these times as per the policy, ensuring you receive 3 weeks’ notice of your shifts. Flexibility is highly encouraged—even if your availability aligns closely but not exactly, we welcome your interest.
Responsibilities
- Customer service: Deliver exceptional service with passion, ensuring customers leave well-served and happy.
- Product knowledge: Be passionate and informed about the products and services within your store.
- Store-wide roles: Support across service, picking, and replenishment areas as required.
- Policy & training: Apply received training to ensure safe, effective operations and outstanding service delivery.
- Decision-making: Make customer-centric decisions to meet evolving demands and routines.
- Engagement: Attend seasonal, community, and charity events in line with Tesco’s values.
- Performance awareness: Understand store performance and contribute to service excellence, sales growth, waste reduction, and profit delivery.
- +Delivery support: Occasionally accept store deliveries.

Qualifications & Eligibility
We welcome applicants who have passed the school-leaver’s age according to country-specific criteria. Unfortunately, roles starting before 6:15 AM or after 9:45 PM, or those involving warehouse work, swerves/spirits stores, bakehouse, customer counters, or delivery driving, require candidates to be aged 18+.
