About the Role

Position: Store Colleague

Availability Window

Here are the availability times for this role:

  • Tuesday: 06:00 - 10:45
  • Wednesday: 06:00 - 10:45
  • Thursday: 06:00 - 10:45
  • Friday: 06:00 - 10:45
  • Saturday: 06:00 - 11:00

Note: Shifts will be scheduled within these times, and you'll have 3 weeks' notice of your scheduled shifts.


Our colleague pay rate ranges depending on location:

  • Base rate starts at £13.28 per hour, increasing to £14.55 for stores within the M25.
  • Additional payments may apply depending on location.

Flexibility information: Tesco guarantees a minimum of 16 hours per week, but can accommodate as few as 12 hours with prior notice if available.

Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Serving customers with passion and pride, knowing and promoting your store’s products and services.
  • Assisting across various store areas such as service counters, picking and replenishing stock.
  • Applying safety training and processes to ensure a safe, efficient store where customers have a great shopping experience.
  • Make timely decisions that ensure customers receive appropriate service and good value at the right times.
  • Participating in community, seasonal, and charity events to create an inclusive and welcoming atmosphere.
  • Understanding store performance metrics, your role, and what contributions are needed to improve customer experience, sales, reduce waste, and support store profitability.
  • Handling products with care to maintain the highest quality for customers.
  • Maintaining Tesco’s core values; offering warmth in interactions, ensuring everyone feels welcome while adhering to company policies.
  • Occasionally, you may assist with deliveries.
