About the Role
Our role at Tesco is focused around serving customers with passion and pride, ensuring they experience what we refer to as “great natural service.”
This position, fully committed and filled with variety, offers a unique environment where everyday challenges also create excitement. Working in a Tesco store will immerse you in a diversified and welcoming environment, with the chance to forge meaningful connections and continually improve yourself.
24-hour notice if there are changes to your working schedule, and promotion opportunities depending on each store.

Additionally, we offer minimum 16 guaranteed hours each week, with flexibility down to minimum 12 hours if preferred.
Your shifts will be scheduled within your stated availability window with 3 weeks’ notice, allowing greater scheduling flexibility.
**Basic Pay Rates:
- £13.28 per hour starting point for our rewarded colleagues
- £14.55 per hour for stores located within the M25 region
Additional payments may apply based on your location.
Responsibilities
As a Tesco colleague, you’ll play a vital role in giving the best experience to:
- Knowing your customers: Deliver a warm welcome, prideful service, and offer effective help every time.
- Staying passionate and informed: Remain knowledgeable about Tesco products, services, and promotions.
- Active store engagement: Support various store areas such as service points, picking, and replenishment operations.
- Safety and quality: Follow training guidelines to uphold safety standards, ensuring customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
- Proactive decision-making: Prioritize what is best for our customers and ensure store routines align with service aims.
- Community and charity involvement: Participate in seasonal and community-focused events, promoting inclusivity.
- Performance awareness: Understand store performance metrics and contribute to customer service, sales support, waste reduction, cost-efficiency, and profit growth.
- Customer focus: Handle and distribute products with care, maintaining quality and freshness.
- Aligned behaviors: Embrace our core values, make everyone feel welcome, and adhere to our store policies.
- Delivery management: Collaborate and assist in receiving deliveries when required.
