About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to work as one of our Tesco Colleagues, helping to serve our customers keenly and passionately across all areas of our store.
We seek colleagues who are committed, enthusiastic, and passionate about delivering a friendly and welcoming experience to every customer. We understand that flexible and varied work environments are important and are delighted to offer:
- Colleague rate of pay (from £13.28/hour or £14.55/hour within the M25)
- Night premium (additional £2.35/hour for work between midnight and 6 am)
- Guaranteed 16 hours for new colleagues (flexibility down to 12 hours possible)

Availability Window
We require standard weekly availability within the following times:
- Monday: 23:00 to 07:30
- Tuesday: 23:00 to 07:30
- Wednesday: 23:00 to 06:45
- Thursday: 23:00 to 07:30
Shifts are scheduled within this availability window, with 3 weeks’ prior notice before shift patterns are confirmed. While we focus on overlapping availability closely, minor flexibility is appreciated.
Responsibilities
As a Tesco Colleague, your role includes (but is not limited to):
- • Serving customers with passion and natural enthusiasm, anticipating their needs to ensure a brilliant shopping experience.
- • Knowing your store’s products inside-out—expertise in services and customer education.
- • Contributing across our sales floor, picking, and replenishment areas to support smooth store operations.
- • Following health and safety standards while applying the training delivered to sustain great service.
- • Making time-sensitive decisions that prioritise customer needs, adjusting routines accordingly (operating at peak times).
- • Participating in seasonal promotions, charity drives, and community events to foster an inclusive atmosphere.
- • Tracking and understanding store performance to drive service excellence, reduce waste/shrinkage, and enhance profitability.
- • Handling products with care and precision to ensure optimal presentation and quality for customers.
- • Living Tesco’s values, creating a welcoming environment for all customers and colleagues.
- • At times, receiving store deliveries, assisting in warehouse and product handling.

Requirements
- You must be over 18 years old to apply.

- Experience in independent decision-making, based on an understanding of customer needs and Tesco’s service standards.
