We’re looking for colleagues ready to commit to flexible availability within these windows:

We’ll schedule your shifts within these times, ensuring you have 3 weeks’ notice before your schedule. Flexibility isn’t rigid—you don’t need to be available exactly at these times, as long as you’re close, we’d still love to hear from you!
Key details:
- Our Colleague rate of pay starts at £13.28/hour (or £14.55 for stores within the M25).
- Night premium payments apply for shifts between midnight and 6am (+£2.35/hr).
- Standard minimum of 16 hours/week ensured for new starters (flexibility to reduce to 12 hours available).
- 16+ years of age required (18+ for early/late shifts or specialist roles such as warehouses, warehouses, bakeries, or driving).
Your Responsibilities
As a Shop Floor Assistant, you’ll take pride in making every customer’s visit unforgettable:
- Delivering world-class service:
- Build rapport with customers to ensure they leave smiling.
- Use product knowledge to anticipate and fulfil customers’ needs.
- Passionate and consistent in delivering Tesco’s gold standard service, encourage a customer-first culture.
- Store operations:
- Work seamlessly across the store in service, picking and replenishment areas.
- Put training into practice to ensure safety and efficiency in all tasks.
- Occasionally assist with store deliveries (depending on shift needs).
- Team & community engagement:
- Represent Tesco confidently as a brand ambassador—be dependable, presentable, and ready to go.
- Participate in seasonal events, community projects, and charity initiatives to create a vibrant store atmosphere.
- Driving performance:
- Carefully handle products to maintain quality and hygiene standards.
- Understand store metrics to help boost sales, reduce waste/shrink, and meet customer expectations.
- Values & professionalism:
- Uphold Tesco’s core values and inclusive policies at all times.
- Take ownership of tasks and decisions that enhance customer satisfaction and teamwork.
