Tesco Store Colleague
Our Tesco Colleague rate of pay starts from £13.28 an hour. If you are based within the M25 area, this rate increases to £14.55 an hour. You’ll also receive an additional night premium of £2.35 per hour for any hours worked between midnight and 6am.
We offer a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week to new colleagues, though flexible options (as low as 12 hours per week) may be available and actively sought.
Availability Window
To ensure we can fulfil operational needs, your shifts must align with the following availability windows:
- Sunday (Sun): 23:00 – 08:00
- Thursday (Thu): 23:00 – 05:45
- Friday (Fri): 23:00 – 08:00
- Saturday (Sat): 23:00 – 08:00

About the Role

Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Excellence: Being friendly, attentive, and expressive in serving customers, earning trust and loyalty.
- Product Knowledge: Demonstrate passion for Tesco’s offerings—products, promotions, pricing, and policies.
- Store Collaboration: Rotating across the store’s core areas (service counters, picking, and replenishment), depending on operational needs.
- Team-Oriented: Supporting colleagues to deliver consistent excellence and teamwork.
- Adaptability: Handling seasonal variations, including charity projects or special events, with resilience.
- User Service Governance: Complying with safety and hygiene protocols, ensuring consistently high service standards.
- Logistics Support: Occasionally assisting in handling deliveries and stock management.
