Tesco Colleague - Northallerton Superstore

About the Role

Customers are at the heart of everything we do. Our Tesco Colleague rate of pay starts from £13.28 per hour; this increases to £14.55 for stores within the M25. Additional payments may apply depending on location.

We guarantee a minimum of 16 hours per week to new colleagues, with flexibility to work as few as 12 hours if preferred. We support flexibility and will schedule your shifts within the periods you’re available:

  • Wed: 3:00 PM – Midnight
  • Fri: 6:00 PM – Midnight
  • Sat: 3:00 PM – Midnight

Responsibilities

As a Tesco Store Colleague, your role will include:

  • Delivering excellence in customer service: Greeting shoppers with enthusiasm and knowledge about store products/services.
  • Operating across service, picking and replenishment areas to support smooth operations.
  • Applying safety and efficiency training, ensuring teamwork yields exceptional customer service.
  • Making customer-focused decisions, including event participation (seasonal, charity, community) and maintaining inclusivity.
  • Supporting store performance by aligning with sales/service goals, reducing waste, and maintaining high standards.
  • Handling products carefully to maintain quality for customers.
  • Reflecting Tesco’s values by embodying their policies, personal authenticity, and fostering inclusiveness.

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • Consistent arrivaling on time and professional presentation, as part of brand ambassador role.
