We offer our Tesco Colleague rate of pay, starting at £13.28 per hour (increasing to £14.55 for stores within the M25). Additional payments may vary per location.
We guarantee minimum 16 hours per week, with the flexibility to work as few as 12 hours. Availability windows are provided for shift scheduling—notices of shifts are given 3 weeks in advance.
Match-like availability is accepted, and flexibility is always welcomed.
About the Role

You’ll assist in:
- Serving customers with passion and natural enthusiasm.
- Being product-wise and knowledgeable within your store.
- Supporting across all store areas, including service and replenishment zones.
- Following safety and service protocols to guarantee outstanding experiences.
- Making customer-focused decisions and maintaining routines.
- Participating in seasonal, community, and charity events.
- Aligning performance with profit-driven efforts (sales, waste reduction, store quality).
- Handling products with care to ensure quality and customer satisfaction.
- Being authentically yourself while living Tesco’s values.
On occasion, deliveries and overtime may be required.
Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional customer service, tailoring interactions with natural warmth.
- Remain informed about current promotions, products, and policies.
- Work cohesively across the store, balancing customer service, picking, and routine tasks.
- Effectively use training to uphold safety, efficiency, and service standards.
- Take initiative in decision-making to solve customer-centric challenges.
- Participate actively in team events, charity drives, and volunteer work.
- Monitor store performance metrics and help achieve retail goals (sales, sales floors, reduce waste, shrink minimisation).
- Handle products with extreme care to prevent spoilage or damage.
- Demonstrates Tesco’s values—welcome, treating every customer routinely with respect, and living brand standards.

Eligibility
- As of April 2024, candidates must be over 18 to apply.
- Certain roles, including night/early shifts or specific operational positions (e.g., warehouse, bakery, delivery driving), mandates an age requirement of over 18.
