Tesco Colleague - Old St Hackney Express

Store Colleague (Home recibirtyrade/Checkouts or Assistant Manager depending on ability/pathway)

About the Role

Crop up to bring that warm, welcoming atmosphere and shopping experience to stores across the UK.

You’ll work Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, between 07:00 and 11:00. While we’d love shifts to fit these times, we’ll consider availability that is close—just a minimum of 12–16 hours per week is required, and 3 weeks’ notice will be provided before scheduling.

Pay starts at £13.28/hour (£14.55 for stores within the M25). Benefits include guaranteed placement (if applying directly).

Responsibilities

Here’s how you’ll contribute every day:

  • Passionate service – Serving customers with pride, ensuring every shopping trip feels special.
  • Product expertise – Being knowledgeable about your store’s range, answering questions, and recommending products.
  • Versatility – Assisting across multiple areas—from checkouts and service duties to picking stock and customer-facing tasks.
  • Partnership with training – Applying store-specific training to maintain high standards in safety, efficiency, and customer service.
  • People & performance – Connecting with colleagues and customers to drive a welcoming, productive atmosphere (e.g., seasonal events).
  • Ownership – Understanding store metrics—sales targets, waste minimisation, and profit margins.
  • Care intentions – Handling products with attention to quality and ensuring perfect condition for customers.
  • Your brand: embody Tesco’s ethics, values, and inclusivity vibe.—* τραγούούς κα όλους**

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
