Tesco Colleague - Romford Gallws Cn Extra

Colleague Role – Store Team Member (Entry Level)

About the Role

Our Tesco Colleague rate of pay starts from £13.28 per hour (rising to £14.55 for stores within the M25). Additional payments may apply depending on location.

It is our policy to offer 16 guaranteed hours per week to new colleagues. However, if you prefer fewer hours (minimum 12), we still welcome your application.

We schedule shifts within these hours and provide 3 weeks' notice of your scheduled shifts. We also offer flexibility if your availability closely matches ours.

Here’s a breakdown of what your day-to-day responsibilities will look like:

  • Delivering exceptional customer service with a passionate and proud approach—it takes a smile and great energy to keep Tesco at the heart of customers’ shopping experiences.
  • Deep product knowledge: Be a passionate and knowledgeable champion of the products and services in your store.
  • Cross-functional support: Work across service, picking, and replenishment areas where required.
  • Safety, service, and efficiency: Apply training to ensure safe, effective operations while putting customers first.
  • Decision-making: Handle situations to meet customer needs and uphold store standards for service, sales, and waste reduction.
  • Community engagement: Participate in seasonal, charity, or community events to foster an inclusive atmosphere.
  • Driving store performance: Contribute to meeting targets in sales, service levels, waste reduction, and shrinking losses—so every part of the store is moving in the right direction.
  • Care for products: Handle goods with care to maintain quality and ensure a great shopping experience.
  • Living Tesco’s values: Represent Tesco with professionalism, inclusivity, and brand pride in every interaction.
