Tesco Colleague - Rugby Superstore

Colleague Role in Tesco Stores

About the Role

We are a diverse and dynamic team at Tesco, always looking to serve our customers better with passion and pride. This is a full-time or part-time role with guaranteed hours, offering variety, challenges, and the opportunity to grow within our inclusive store environment.

Our availability window for shifts is as follows:

  • Tuesday: 04:00 - 09:15
  • Wednesday: 04:00 - 09:15
  • Thursday: 04:00 - 09:15
  • Friday: 04:00 - 09:15
  • Saturday: 04:00 - 09:15

A minimum of 16 guaranteed weekly hours is offered, but we also accommodate schedules down to 12 hours. Shifts will be within these times, and you’ll receive 3 weeks’ notice of your schedule. Flexibility is supported if your availability aligns closely with our requirements.

Your Responsibilities

As a valued colleague, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring every customer has a great experience:

  • Delivering exceptional service: Know your customers to serve them passionately and professionally; create natural, friendly interactions.
  • Product expertise: Be knowledgeable about our store’s products, services, and ongoing promotions.
  • Multi-role work: Support various areas, including service desks, picking, and replenishment, as required by store operations.
  • Applying training: Use dedicated training to ensure safety, efficiency, and top-tier customer service.
  • Making customer-driven decisions: Act independently in ways that enhance shopping experiences and meet real-time customer needs.
  • Engaging with community: Participate in seasonal events, charitable initiatives, and store campaigns to strengthen community bonds.
  • Driving performance: Understand store metrics, reduce waste/shrink, and contribute to sales and profit targets.
  • Product care: Handle goods with care to maintain quality and ensure products reach customers in optimal condition.
  • Upholding Tesco values: Represent our brand with authenticity, inclusivity, and professionalism while adhering to all policies.
  • Delivery support: Occasionally assist with goods receipt and storage operations.
