Tesco Colleague - Walkden Extra

About the Role

We’re looking for committed and passionate colleagues to help build our teams and provide great customer experiences in our stores.

Availability Window Here are the days and times we would like you to be available to work:

  • Monday: 16:00 - 22:00
  • Tuesday: 16:00 - 22:00
  • Friday: 16:00 - 22:00
  • Saturday: 15:30 - 22:00

Our Tesco Colleague rate of pay starts from £13.28 an hour; this increases to £14.55 for stores within the M25, with additional payments depending on location.

We offer a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours per week, though flexibility for as little as 12 hours may also be considered. We aim to schedule your contracted hours within the times you’re available, providing 3 weeks’ notice of your shifts. *Flexibility is encouraged, so if your availability closely matches but doesn't align exactly, we’d still love to hear from you – read more here.

Responsibilities

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Providing passionate, high-quality service—knowing your customers and serving them with pride, delivering a natural and great shopping experience.
  • Being expert in the products and services available in your store.
  • Supporting across the store in Service, Piercing, and Replenishment areas as required.
  • Implementing training and safety protocols, ensuring an effective and safe store environment while excelling in customer service.
  • Making customer-centered decisions while maintaining routines that meet shopper needs efficiently.
  • Engaging in seasonal, community, and charity events, fostering an inclusive atmosphere and building store performance awareness.
  • Understanding your store’s performance goals—ensuring you contribute to service, sales, waste reduction, and profitability.
  • Handling products with care and diligence, maintaining quality and presentation for customers.
  • Staying true to our values and policies, ensuring a welcoming, supportive environment.
  • Occasionally assisting with on-time deliveries into the store.
