About the Role

We’re looking for passionate, service-driven colleagues to join our team!

Our colleague rate of pay starts from £13.28 an hour; this increases to £14.55 for stores within the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location.

We offer a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours per week to new colleagues. However, if you’d like to work fewer hours (minimum of 12), we still welcome your application.

Responsibilities

Here’s what you’ll be responsible for:

  • Serving customers with passion and pride – knowing your customers and giving natural, high-quality service.
  • Product expertise – being passionate and knowledgeable about the products and services in your store.
  • Cross-functional roles – working across the store, including service and picking/replenishment areas, as needed.
  • Safety and efficiency – putting into action the training you’ve received so everyone works safely and effectively.
  • Decision-making for customers – handling situations professionally and delivering store routines that meet our customers’ needs.
  • Community engagement – taking part in seasonal, charity, and community events.
  • Business awareness – understanding the store’s performance and your role in driving service, sales, and profit.
  • Quality handling – receiving, handling, and presenting products with care.
  • Living Tesco’s values – being yourself, making everyone feel welcome, and following policies.
  • Delivery handling – at times, you may be required to accept deliveries into the store.
