Store Team Member (Flexible Hours)
About the Role
Our Store Team Member role is all about serving our customers with passion and pride. You’ll be at the heart of our operations, helping to create an amazing shopping experience for our colleagues every day.
You’re expected to meet the availability requirements below, and be flexible to work within the given shifts. This ranges from 12 to 16 hours per week, depending on your preference.
Availability Window:
- Sunday: 12:00 – 22:00
- Saturday: 16:00 – 22:00
- Friday: 14:00 – 20:00
Our colleague wage starts at £13.28/hour, rising to £14.55/hour for stores within the M25. Additional pay may also apply depending on location.
Key Responsibilities
Here’s what this role involves:
- Customer experience: Know your customers and serve them with passion, pride, and a welcoming smile.
- Product knowledge: Be passionate and knowledgeable about our store’s products and services.
- Versatility: Work in multiple areas such as picking, replenishment, service counters, and other tasks as needed.
- Safety and service excellence: Follow training guidelines to work safely and effectively while serving customers well.
- Time-sensitive decisions: Make customer-right decisions and keep the store running smoothly.
- Community involvement: Participate in seasonal, charity, and community events to build a positive atmosphere.
- Store performance: Understand the store’s performance metrics and how your role contributes to service, sales, quality, and profit.
- Product care: Handle products carefully to ensure they arrive in the best condition for customers.
- Brand ambassading: Embrace Tesco’s values, make everyone feel welcome, and follow our policies.
- Delivery support: Assist with receiving deliveries when required.

Requirements & Qualities
To thrive in this role, you’ll need:

Salary & Benefits
Pay:
- Starting from £13.28/hour (up to £14.55 for stores within the M25), plus location-based payments.
Holiday:
- Starts at 20 days plus a personal day (with Bank holidays included), rising to 22 days after 12 months.
