Store Assistant - Colleague Role
About the Role
Our Tesco Colleague rate of pay starts at £13.28/hour, rising to £14.55/hour for stores within the M25. Additional payments may apply based on location.
You must be over 18 years old to apply.
We guarantee a minimum of 16 hours per week but, if needed, can accommodate preferences from 12 hours upwards. Availability windows (hours you’re available to work) are detailed in the table below.

Scheduling: Your contracted hours will be scheduled within these windows, with 3 weeks’ notice for specific shifts. We support flexible teamworking, so even if your available hours aren’t a perfect match, we’ll consider all applications.
What You’ll Deliver
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Serve our customers with passion and pride, meeting their needs and preferences.
- Know our products and services thoroughly.
- Work across the store, including service, picking, and replenishment.
- Act safely and effectively after training.
- Make customer-focused decisions—understanding routines, sales trends, waste, and profit.
- Handle products with care, ensuring they reach customers in optimal condition.
- Participate in community/charity events, fostering inclusivity.
- Understand store performance and contribute to service improvements.
- Take deliveries when required.
