  • Our Tesco Rule 1 ensures all colleagues receive at least 16 guaranteed hours per week. Flexibility options are available down to 12 hours/week if preferred.
  • We schedule shifts within your availability window and provide 3 weeks’ notice of shifts.
  • We are happy to consider flexible variations where times closely align.

  • Starting rate: £13.28/hour (inside the M25)
  • Rate within the M25: £14.55/hour
  • Additional incentivvd rates for night shifts, late/early work.

Please note: We may recruit candidates over 18 only if shifts fall before 6:15 am or after 9:45 pm, or in roles requiring warehouse/beverage processing.


What You’ll Do

You’ll have passion for service, working across the store to support customers and teams. Your responsibilities include:

  • Delivering exceptional customer service—knowing shoppers and anticipating their needs.
  • Offering knowledgeable and passionate advice on store products and services.
  • Working across sales floors, service desks, and replenishment where needed.
  • Safely preparing for all shifts and showcasing Tesco values in everything you do.
  • Supporting seasonal, community, and charity events to help create a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Contributing to sales targets, waste reduction, and profit goals through teamwork.
  • Handling products carefully (including merchandise, perishables, and delicacies).
  • Living our values— being inclusive, transparent, and prioritising trust and integrity.
  • Assisting in store deliveries and stock placements when required.
