Our Tesco Colleague rate of pay starts from £13.28 an hour, increasing to £14.55 for stores within the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location.
It is our policy to offer new colleagues joining us a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week. However, if you prefer to work fewer hours (minimum 12), we still welcome your application.
The table above outlines the availability windows we require—schedule guaranteeing your contracted hours within these times, with 3 weeks' notice of your shifts. We support flexible arrangements where your availability aligns closely, even if not entirely matching these times.

Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
- Knowing your customers and delivering exceptional service with passion and pride.
- Building passionate product and service knowledge to assist shoppers effectively.
- Assisting across the store, including service, picking, and replenishment areas as needed.
- Putting training into practice to ensure safe operations and outstanding customer service.
- Making customer-focused decisions and adhering to store routines for optimal performance.
- Taking part in seasonal, charitable, and community events, fostering an inclusive store atmosphere.
- Understanding your store’s performance and playing an active role in improving service, sales, and operational efficiency.
- Handling products with care to maintain quality and ensure timely delivery to customers.
- Embedding Tesco’s values, making all customers feel welcome, and adhering to store policies.
- Helping handle product deliveries when required.
