About the Role Tesco is looking for a Shift Lead role to support the team and ensure a great shopping experience for all customers. If you love leadership, challenging environments and meeting new people, here's your opportunity to develop and grow within a diverse and inspiring team.
Availability Window Due to proximity and operational needs, we require availability between 14:30 and 23:00 on:
- Sunday: 14:30:00 - 23:00:00
- Friday: 14:30:00 - 23:00:00
Key Details
- Pay per Hour: Starts at £15.59, rising to £16.86 within M25 locations. Some stores might offer additional payments.
- Hours: Guaranteed minimum is 16 hours per week, with options from 12 hours.
- Schedule Notice: Shifts scheduled within your availability windows, with at least 3 weeks’ notice. Priority given as availability aligns with requirements.
- Age Requirement: Applicants must be 18 or older.
Responsibilities
- Lead the team to provide a superior customer experience in-store.
- Operate seamlessly across all store areas and ensure colleagues feel supported and informed.
- Build a positive, inclusive team culture.
- Confidently manage daily store operations in the Manager’s absence.
- Make flexible decisions quickly, and adapt to changes with ease.
- Focus on coaching colleagues, giving constructive feedback, and setting the example for exceptional service.
- Constantly seek improvement in serving customers, the community, and the environment.

Requirements
- Minimum Age: You must be 18 years or older to apply.
- Leadership Experience: Seek support with collaboration in team lead or management positions within fast-paced retail.
- Commitment to great service and smart customer care.
- Prioritise well-established positive relationships to create an inclusive and supportive team environment.
- Effective communication, being transparent with multiple tools to inform the team.
- Natural leadership to keep the team motivated and focused on outstanding performance.
