Shift Lead Pay & Hours:

  • Starter rate: £15.59/hour, rising to £16.86/hour in stores within the M25. Additional pay may apply in some locations.
  • Guaranteed minimum of 16 hours/week (12-hour roles also available).
  • 3+ weeks’ notice for scheduled shifts.

Eligibility: You must be 18+ to apply.


Key Responsibilities

As a Tesco Shift Lead, you will:

  • Lead the team to deliver exceptional customer experiences in-store.
  • Support across all store departments and manage day-to-day operational queries.
  • Build positive, inclusive relationships to foster a cohesive, motivated team.
  • Confidently step into store leadership in the Manager’s absence.
  • Make balanced, adaptable decisions and thrive in dynamic environments.
  • Coach colleagues, provide feedback, and embody stellar service.
  • Stay proactive in elevating customer, community, and planetary impact.

Requirements

To excel in this role, you will be:

  • 18 years or older.
  • Experienced in team lead or management within a fast-paced retail environment.
  • A strong role model with passion for exceptional service and customer-centric excellence.
  • Capable of cultivating long-lasting, inclusive team relationships.
  • A clear communicator, using various methods (e.g., team updates, 1:1s).
  • A natural leader who inspires and motivates teams to exceed expectations.
