As a Shift Lead at Tesco, you’ll play a crucial role in delivering outstanding customer experiences while fostering a supportive team environment. Pay ranges from £15.59 an hour, rising to £16.86 for stores within the M25, with potential for additional payments in selected locations. The role guarantees a minimum of 16 hours per week, though shifts from 12 hours are also available.
Your contracted hours will be scheduled 3 weeks in advance, using the available windows above. If you’re close to what we’re looking for, apply anyway!
To be eligible, you must be 18 years or older.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the team to deliver an exceptional in-store experience for every customer.
- Work across all store areas and across all colleagues, acting as the key point of contact for daily operational matters.
- Build positive, inclusive relationships to empower staff to perform at their best.
- Confidently lead the store in the temporary absence of the Manager.
- Make balanced and flexible decisions, adapting quickly to change.
- Coach colleagues, provide constructive feedback, and role model outstanding service.
- Stay proactive and curious, seeking ways to improve for customers, communities, and sustainability daily.

Requirements
- Experience in team lead or management roles in a dynamic retail environment.
- A strong commitment to service excellence, ensuring customer needs are always met.
- The ability to foster supportive, long-lasting relationships that contribute to an inclusive team.
- Excellent communication skills to keep the team informed through multiple channels.
- Natural leadership ability to inspire and motivate your team for outstanding performance.
