Roles and Responsibilities
Tesco Shift Lead pay starts from £15.59 per hour, rising to £16.86 in stores within the M25. Some locations may offer additional payments. We guarantee a minimum of 16 hours per week (though roles from 12 hours are also available). Your contracted hours will be scheduled within the availability windows shown, with at least 3 weeks’ notice of your shifts.
Your responsibilities include:
- Leading the team to deliver a great customer experience in-store.
- Supporting across all store areas and all colleagues, answering day-to-day operational queries.
- Building positive, inclusive relationships to help colleagues perform at their best.
- Confidently leading the store in the Manager’s absence.
- Making balanced, flexible decisions and adapting well to change.
- Coaching colleagues, giving feedback, and modelling great service.
- Staying curious and seeking opportunities to serve customers, communities, and the planet better every day.

Requirements
- Must be 18 years or over.
- Experience working in a team lead or management position in a fast-paced retail environment.
- A strong role model with a passion for delivering great service, ensuring all customer needs are met.
- Ability to build positive, long-lasting relationships to foster an inclusive, supportive team environment.
- Strong communication skills, using various methods to keep the team informed.
- Natural leadership to motivate and inspire the team to achieve outstanding results.
