The Tesco Shift Lead role starts at an hourly rate of £15.59, rising to £16.86 in stores within the M25 area. Some locations offer additional payments. We guarantee a minimum of 16 hours per week, and roles starting with 12 hours are also available.
Your schedule will fall within the availability windows specified above, with a minimum of three weeks’ notice before each shift. If your availability is close, we still encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities
As a Shift Lead, you will be responsible for:
- Leading the team to deliver an exceptional in-store customer experience.
- Working across all areas of the store and with all colleagues, serving as the primary contact for day-to-day operational queries.
- Building positive, inclusive relationships that encourage colleagues to perform at their best.
- Confidently leading the store in the Manager’s absence, ensuring operations remain smooth.
- Making balanced, flexible decisions while adapting well to changes.
- Coaching colleagues, providing feedback, and modelling outstanding service.
- Staying curious and proactive in seeking opportunities to enhance service for our customers, communities, and planet.

Requirements
- Experience in a team lead or management position within a fast-paced retail environment.
- A commitment to being a role model with a passion for delivering great service and meeting every customer’s needs.
- The ability to build long-lasting, positive relationships to create a supportive and inclusive team environment.
- Clear communication across various platforms to keep the team well-informed.
- Natural leadership skills to motivate and inspire the team, driving outstanding results.
