Test Analyst

£34,000 to £37,000 plus excellent benefits (Work Level 6B)

Scunthorpe DN15 9GE - in this role you'll work in a hybrid way splitting your time between home and our Scunthorpe office as required for team days, meetings, and events, typically a couple of times per month (find out more about our hybrid working policy at https://jobs.coop.co.uk/hybrid-working-policy)

We're reshaping our Digital, Technology and Data function for the future, creating new opportunities, strengthening our capability, and building clearer, more resilient ways of working so we can deliver even better services for our Co-op, our colleagues, members and customers.

We're looking for a Test Analyst to join our Technology team and help us deliver high-quality, reliable technology solutions across our Co-op. You'll play a key role in making sure new and updated systems work as expected by analysing requirements, designing and executing effective testing activities, identifying issues early and supporting successful delivery. Working closely with Product Managers, Developers, Designers, suppliers and business stakeholders, you'll help make sure changes across our Retail and Wholesale operations meet business needs and are implemented with minimal disruption.

Why this role matters

This role offers the opportunity to work across a variety of business-critical products and systems, helping shape quality from the earliest stages of delivery through to implementation. It's a great opportunity for someone who enjoys problem-solving, has an eye for detail and wants to make a real impact on the quality, reliability and performance of technology used across Co-op.

What you'll do

  • Review and provide feedback on user stories, requirements and solution designs to help ensure quality is built into delivery from the outset
  • Create and execute test plans, test scripts, test cases and test scenarios based on business and technical requirements
  • Carry out system, system integration, regression and acceptance testing whilst supporting user acceptance and operational acceptance testing activities
  • Conduct exploratory testing and identify, investigate and document defects, working closely with development teams to support resolution
  • Support the growth, maintenance and execution of automated regression test suites
  • Use tools and techniques to validate integrations, interfaces, APIs and test results across a range of technology solutions
  • Work closely with product, project and technology teams to support the successful delivery of change across Retail and Wholesale systems
  • Contribute to Agile team activities, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, stand-ups and retrospectives, while providing clear updates on progress, risks and issues
  • Produce testing documentation, test evidence and reporting, while supporting continuous improvement and testing best practice across the team

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
