Your Opportunity
Position & Scope
We are hiring a Test Centre Administrator based in Torquay, with occasional shifts covered in our Kingsbridge centre. As a core team member, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring secure exam administration while delivering exceptional customer service.
Working Hours & Pay
• Minimum hours: 11.25 hours per week • Shift pattern:
- Tuesday–Friday: 07:30 AM – 4:15 PM
- Alternate Saturdays: 07:30 AM – 12:15 PM
- Random Thursday coverage: 10:30 AM – 7:15 PM • Hourly rate: £13.60/hour, paid monthly

Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll be responsible for maintaining the security and integrity of Pearson VUE exams while creating a positive candidate experience. Key duties include:

Customer Relations:
- Welcome and check in test-taking candidates professionally
- Verify personal identification documents (following security protocols)
- Provide clear explanations of exam rules and processes

Proctoring & Exam Integrity:
- Monitor and proctor candidates throughout exams, ensuring compliance with security policies
- Demonstrate strong attention to restricted behaviours and detection of irregularities

Administrative & Technical Support:
- Troubleshoot technical issues (e.g., software glitches, hardware malfunctions) in collaboration with IT teams
- Maintain cleanliness and readiness of exam workstations (e.g., keyboard sanitization, vacuuming) if required
Requirements for Success
Pearson VUE is seeking a detail-oriented, calm, and highly discrete professional who thrives in a structured and customer-focused environment. Successful candidates will:
• Hold school qualifications in English and Mathematics (or equivalent) • Have experience (or understanding of) Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) – advantageous • Be able to span periods standing or concentrating for extended hours (8+ hours per shift) • Maintain a completely positive and professional demeanour—this is critical for trust in Pearson VUE’s high-stakes assessments • Demonstrate independent judgment in compliance with exam security procedures • Be highly adaptable due to the varying shift times (morning/evening/weekdays/weekends)
