Test Engineer, Permanent
Location: Glasgow with hybrid working

We are looking for a talented Test Engineer who enjoys improving software quality, solving technical challenges, and working closely with highly skilled engineering teams. The Opportunity
You will become part of a collaborative Agile engineering team responsible for delivering high-quality software across a diverse product portfolio including web applications, mobile applications, REST APIs, and appliance-based video solutions. This role offers an excellent opportunity to expand your automation skills while helping shape testing standards, processes, and quality across the engineering function.
What You Will Be Doing
- Design, execute, and maintain manual test cases for new functionality and regression testing
- Develop and maintain automated tests using Playwright or be keen to learn and develop your automation capability
- Test web applications, mobile applications, REST APIs, and video-based products
- Identify opportunities to improve test automation and overall test coverage
- Investigate, reproduce, and document software defects
- Work closely with Software Engineers, Product Owners, and fellow Test Engineers throughout the development lifecycle
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives
- Contribute to continuous improvements in testing practices and quality assurance processes

What We Are Looking For
You will have experience in manual and automated software testing together with a solid understanding of software testing principles and Agile development. You should be someone who enjoys learning, takes ownership of your work, and is motivated by delivering high-quality software. Ideally, you will also have experience of:
- Testing web, mobile, and API-based applications
- Automated testing frameworks such as Playwright
- JavaScript or TypeScript
- Jira, Confluence, and Git
- Testing embedded devices or hardware appliances
- Linux environments
- Networking fundamentals including HTTP, TCP/IP, and DNS
- CI/CD pipelines and automated testing
- Docker or containerised environments
- Video streaming, media applications, or real-time communications
