Test Engineer Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Test Engineer with a strong background in testing Commercial Tools to join a leading client in London. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality, performance, and reliability of commercial applications through comprehensive testing strategies and close collaboration with cross-functional teams.

This is a hybrid role based in London and falls Inside IR35.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
  • Perform functional, integration, regression, system, and end-to-end testing.
  • Validate Commercial Tools and business-critical applications to ensure they meet business and technical requirements.
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts, Developers, Product Owners, and stakeholders throughout the SDLC.
  • Identify, document, track, and verify software defects using defect management tools.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and sprint reviews.
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities and production releases.
  • Ensure software quality by implementing best testing practices and quality standards.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for QA processes and automation where applicable.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of Software Testing experience.
  • Strong experience testing Commercial Tools/Commercial Systems.
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Functional Testing
    • Regression Testing
    • Integration Testing
    • System Testing
    • End-to-End Testing
    • UAT Support
  • Experience working within Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Strong knowledge of defect tracking tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.
  • Experience with SQL for data validation and backend testing.
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with test automation tools such as Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress.
  • API testing experience using Postman or Rest Assured.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Knowledge of Azure DevOps, Git, or Jenkins.
  • Experience working within highly regulated industries such as Financial Services, Insurance, Telecom, or Retail.
  • ISTQB Foundation or Advanced Certification.
