Test Engineer (Performance Testing & Automation)
Contract: 6 Months
Rate: £530 per day (Inside IR35)
Location: Fully Remote
Overview
We are looking for an experienced Test Engineer to join a delivery team on an initial 6-month contract. The successful candidate will have strong experience in performance testing and the development of test automation frameworks, helping to ensure the quality, reliability and scalability of enterprise applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and execute performance, load and stress testing activities.
- Build, maintain and enhance automated test frameworks for functional and non-functional testing.
- Analyse test results, identify performance bottlenecks and provide clear recommendations.
- Work closely with developers, business analysts and DevOps teams to embed quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Produce test plans, test scripts and supporting documentation.
- Support CI/CD pipelines by integrating automated testing into deployment processes.
- Track, manage and report defects through to resolution.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing practices and quality standards.

Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven commercial experience as a Test Engineer, QA Engineer or Software Test Analyst.
- Strong hands-on experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, Gatling or similar.
- Experience developing and maintaining test automation frameworks using tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress or equivalent.
- Experience with programming or scripting languages such as Java, C#, JavaScript, Python or similar.
- Good understanding of API testing and automation.
- Experience working within Agile delivery environments.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
