A Leading Global Technology and Cyber Organisation
A leading global technology and cyber organisation is building a new Security Operations Centre to support the cyber defence of a major international defence programme. This is a rare opportunity to join the programme during its build phase and play a central role in shaping the engineering, testing and customer acceptance approach for a complex, multi-region environment.
The Test & Engineering Manager
The Test & Engineering Manager will lead the internal engineering lifecycle while owning the planning and delivery of customer acceptance activities. The role combines engineering leadership, test management, team management and senior customer engagement across a SOC environment protecting a mix of Microsoft Cloud services and on-premises data centres.
What’s on Offer
- Salary: £82,400 – £94,000
- 10% annual bonus
- Senior-level position within a major new SOC programme
- Hybrid working with customer-site attendance near Frimley approximately once every one to two weeks
- Flexibility on home location, with London and the Frimley area particularly well suited
- Candidates based elsewhere in the UK will be considered where regular travel is manageable

What You Need

- Extensive experience leading engineering and testing activities across large-scale, complex programmes
- Strong understanding of Security Operations Centres, SOC technologies and associated technical environments
- Experience defining and managing engineering lifecycle processes
- Ability to create and own key engineering artefacts, including Engineering Management Plans and Test Strategies
- Experience sizing, resourcing, tasking and managing engineering teams
- Strong people leadership and experience managing multidisciplinary technical teams
- Experience defining internal test strategies and developing functional and non-functional test procedures
- Ability to define, agree and lead customer acceptance strategies and processes
- Strong client-facing skills with experience negotiating acceptance criteria and resolving delivery challenges
- Experience reviewing and approving technical documentation, including designs, deployment guides, configuration guides and administration documentation
- Strong internal and external stakeholder management skills
- Experience working across complex, multi-source programmes
- Ability to support and mentor technical team members
- ISTQB Advanced Test Management certification would be beneficial but is not essential
