Test Environment Manager
Job Title: Test Environment Manager Location: Croydon (occasional), Bromley (occasional), Mostly remote Job Type: Full-Time Start Date: June Overview: We are seeking an experienced Test Environments Manager to lead the design, delivery and ongoing management of our cloud‑based test environments. This is a critical role that ensures secure, reliable and scalable environments are available to support client testing and development activities across multiple projects. The successful candidate will have a strong technical foundation in cloud platforms and test environment configuration, combined with the ability to plan, coordinate and optimise environments in a fast‑paced, delivery‑focused setting. You will work closely with development, testing and delivery teams to ensure environments are provisioned efficiently, maintained to a high standard and aligned with project timelines and quality expectations. Key Responsibilities: Design, configure and manage cloud test environments to support development and testing of large integrated software products. Collaborate with IT, software development, and quality assurance teams to understand requirements and ensure that environments meet their testing needs, in particular third-party integrations are mapped to appropriate test environments. Develop and implement strategies for provisioning, deploying, and decommissioning test environments with a focus on automation and scalability. Ensure continuous availability of critical test environments and troubleshoot any issues that arise. Create and maintain detailed documentation for environment configuration baselines, processes, and service records. Aligning test data and user access needs across multiple cloud environments. Implement best practices and policies for managing cloud resources, including security compliance and data integrity. Coordinate with vendors and service providers to enhance cloud solutions and resolve any issues related to cloud environments. Manage the release governance for all test environments, liaising with environment owners, DevOps, delivery teams and stakeholders. Support by mentoring junior members of our QA team Required Skills and Qualifications: Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and other stakeholders. Experience in managing and optimising budgets for cloud test environments. Experience in recording and maintaining environment baseline configurations. Expert level attention to detail across multiple test environments and phase Ability to diagnose and resolve problems with the test environment and has a methodical and analytical approach to problem-solving. Strong knowledge & experience with AWS cloud platform Experience with infrastructure as code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible) and CI/CD pipelines. Proficient in observability/monitoring of test environments Demonstrable ability to manage projects, including planning, scheduling and execution. Mentoring and leadership skills to foster a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing. Preferred Qualifications: Certifications in AWS cloud technologies, a min AWS qualification of Solutions architect Associate Knowledge of containerisation technologies like Docker and Kubernetes. Experience in a DevOps culture promoting collaboration, automation, and monitoring. Certifications such as ISTQB Advanced or similar Why Apply? Fantastic culture with regular social events.
