Test Technician


Job Description

The Test Technician will support operational and engineering activities within the Swindon site, focusing on associated logistics, electronics testing, and lab support activities. This is an entry-level position suited to junior or early-career candidates.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support stock handling and traceability of electronic products
  • Undertake regular deliveries of electronic products to customer sites as required, including driving a company or rental van
  • Perform functional and performance testing of electronic and power supply products
  • Support engineering activities, including product verification and validation testing
  • Assist with end-of-line testing and production support activities
  • Support basic troubleshooting and fault investigation of products and test setups
  • Assist in maintaining and organising the electronics test laboratory and equipment
  • Use standard test equipment such as digital multimeters and oscilloscopes

Candidate Requirements

  • Full UK driving licence required
  • Basic understanding of electronics or electrical engineering (education or practical experience)
  • Hands-on practical skills (e.g., testing, wiring, basic assembly preferred)
  • Willingness to learn and develop technical skills
  • Reliable and proactive approach

BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) Requirements

  • Right to work in the UK
  • Proof of identity (e.g. passport or driving licence)
  • Employment, education, and/or activity history covering the previous five years

Additional Information

This role offers a combination of hands-on electronics testing and operational support activities. You will work both in a laboratory environment and on-site with customers, gaining practical, real-world experience.

  • The position is ideal for early-career candidates looking to build and develop technical skills in electronics testing, engineering support, and customer-facing operations within a supportive team environment.
  • You will be part of an international team, providing exposure to collaborative working and real customer applications.
  • The role includes regular local travel to customer sites, including the use of a company or rental van, so candidates should be comfortable with this aspect of the role.
