We’re growing, and we’re looking for a skilled and motivated Test Technician to join our development team and play a key role in bringing our technology to life.

What you’ll do: As a Test Technician, you will support the testing and development of our electric motor systems, ensuring safe, accurate and efficient execution of test procedures. This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical expertise, problem-solving capability and attention to detail.

Key responsibilities: Implement and maintain safe systems of work within the test environment Execute test procedures, capturing accurate and reliable data Support the setup, debugging and commissioning of powertrain test rigs Identify and manage required test equipment, parts and spares Work collaboratively with engineering teams to support product development and continuous improvement Provide practical, analytical input to resolve technical issues

About you: We’re looking for someone who combines technical expertise with a proactive and adaptable mindset, ideally with experience in a fast-paced engineering or manufacturing environment.

Essential skills & experience: HNC / HND in Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience Previous experience working as a Test Technician within a similar industry (e.g. automotive, EV, manufacturing, or powertrain) Electrical/electronics background, including: Ability to read and interpret schematics Experience with panel wiring Strong computer literacy and confidence working with test systems and software Experience working within a demanding, hands-on technical environment Desirable: Experience in a Maintenance Technician role High voltage training or IMI Level 2 (or equivalent) in Electric/Hybrid Vehicle Systems Experience working with powertrain or motor testing environments Why join AEM?
